Q: Is teeth whitening harmful and can anyone whiten their teeth?

Q : Is teeth whitening permanent?

A : Exposure to food, drinks, smoking and other consumables will gradually darken teeth over time. Proper oral hygiene and use of a teeth whitening maintenance product will greatly help to extend the results of a whitening session.

Q : What causes tooth discoloration?

A : There are many causes. The most common include consumption of foods, coffee, tea, wine and smoking. Discoloration can also be caused by certain medications and these stains are usually not responsive to teeth whitening.

Q : Are there any side effects to teeth whitening?

A : Some people may experience a slight tingling sensation or blanching of their gums. This will subside within a few hours after the whitening session.
